Route and journey
Start: Burgdorf. Ride: The route leads over the Emmental hills via Lueg to the show dairy and on to the Kleeb mill. On a gravel bike, the metres in altitude on the ridges require a good level of fitness, but offer sweeping views of the valley and the Bernese Alps. Return journey: From Rüegsbach, the route is flat on gravel paths along the Emme back to Burgdorf.
The Kleeb mill experience
In Rüegsbach, the focus is on a visit to the Kleeb mill. The striking wooden building is an example of traditional Emmental craftsmanship

Historical structure: The architecture and preserved facilities show how grain from the region is processed.

The craft: You can see the path from local grain to flour. The Kleeb mill produces different types of flour without artificial additives.
The Mühlelade (farm store): The integrated store offers a wide range of regional products:

Flour specialties: Spelt, wholemeal products and baking mixes.

Regional products: Pasta, honey, oils, seeds and muesli mixes.

Gift items: Regionally compiled sets that are easy to transport in bike rucksacks or frame bags.
